InfoAccess.net Engineering will be performing a Y2K test of our backup power generator.
The test is scheduled during our normal maintenance downtime (6:00 to 12:00 EST). Should any difficulties arise, we may encounter a longer period of availability.

November 8, 1999

In an effort to better prepare for Y2K, InfoAccess.net will be performing maintenance on all of our in-house servers on Saturday, November 20, 1999. Down time is expected to last all day. Database and Citrix servers should be available by 12:00 p.m. EST on Sunday, November 21, 1999.

If unexpected problems occur, additional information will be posted on this page.

Attention all Citrix users!

As you know their have been some problems with FAXport that cause users to hang during order distribution.   These “hangs” have a domino effect on other users, which cause them to appear hung as well.  InfoAccess.net's research & development team has identified the problem to be in LanSource’s code.  LanSource is the company that wrote FAXport, a third party application, and has been made aware of the problem and is taking steps to correct it.

Unfortunately, until they fix their application, the problem still exists.  In an attempt to make things a little easier on you, the user, we are going to make a change to how you access the FAXport Client application.   Starting Monday, May 24, we will turn off the ability to run FAXport while Order Entry, EDI, or Invoicing are open.  This also means you will not be able to execute Order Entry, EDI, or Invoicing if the FAXport client is running.

This does not change the way you distribute orders or take away your ability to view your outgoing fax queue.  It simply changes the way you access the fax queue.  We do this only after a detailed investigation and careful consideration of the consequences.  No functionality or features have changed because of this.

We regret any inconvenience this may cause you and will turn this capability back on once we receive and test LanSource’s fix.

If you have any questions concerning this, please feel free to contact me directly.

Citrix password protection.

InfoAccess.net does not have the capability to view a user’s password. This is part of the security built into Windows NT & Citrix. Although we cannot view a password, we can change them. In order to verify the individual making a request is authorized, passwords will only be issued to the operator or manager listed for each account.

The following outlines InfoAccess.net procedures so that we may verify that a password is in fact being issued to the authorized individual.

  • The operator must call InfoAccess.net and request that a password be changed.
  • InfoAccess.net support will then call back and request an authorized individual.
  • Once verified, InfoAccess.net will issue a new password that conforms to our security standards.

Note: If the operator or manager is not available, passwords, in the interest of security, will not be issued unless a previous arrangement has been made with the Supervisor of Technical Support.

  • WinFrame Load Balance is now installed. This will take all users to the LEAST used server no matter if you hit "Primary" or "Secondary" Server. Load balancing is a technology InfoAccess.net invested in that will spread the user load between servers in the InfoAccess.net cluster. What this means is that you will go to whichever server has the most available resources to handle your session.

  • WinFrame Server CL1_CTX3 is now online. A new Citrix server has been added to our network. CL1_CTX3, is one of Dell's top of the line servers.

  • All database servers are being upgraded to new hardware today. Database servers have been upgraded to new hardware.

  • Dynamic Routing implemented: Any user can log on to any server. We have implemented dynamic routing to our Cluster domain. We're using a "round robin" method that will assist us in maintaining a fault tolerant system.

  • Application Auto Timeout implemented "50 Minutes" Implementation of Application "Auto-Timeout". This feature will close out your database connection and log you off the system in an orderly fashion.

  • Online Trouble Ticket, used to generate technical support calls. Requests for technical support assistance can now be generated by using the On-Line Trouble Ticket. Submitting this form will place an e-mail directly in the mailbox of the queue dispatcher.
